I like how wide it looks -- that's a roof to do things under! Do you have a fiddler lined up for your kitchen, yet?

I don't think so. I am not familiar with this custom.
All I need to know about the kitchen is where the M&Ms are kept. No fiddler but it will have a cable outlet so she can watch her soap operas in the kitchen. She is roughing it now with an antenna.

I hope that link doesn't run on into the next county, Gentle Mac. The pine tree to the ridgepole is an old custom. At home in England we used a flag and mistletoe to celebrate a building going up. It's just an old tradition -- for good fortune.
